Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity and Adsterra load on the first paint, before you click anything. The banner tells you so and gives you a Reject button: Reject turns all three off and is remembered in this browser for 180 days. YouTube is the one exception — the video frame is created only when you press Play.
What loads, and when
Three third parties load by default on the first paint: Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity and Adsterra. “Default” means a visitor with no stored choice is treated as granted; the banner is notice, and Reject is the control that turns all three off. The choice is kept for 180 days. YouTube is separate: the video frame is created only when you press Play.
| Party | Purpose | When it loads | Storage it may set |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics 4 (Google) | Page views and aggregate traffic reports for this site; measurement ID
G-LYFMSGXZKH. IP addresses are used for coarse location and are not
logged with the report. | First paint, by default | _ga and _ga_LYFMSGXZKH, up to 2 years; Google may also
use related measurement cookies according to its configuration. |
| Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft) | Heat maps and session replay for this site; project z7oi5rddyy.
Clarity uses input masking; avoid entering sensitive information into the site. | First paint, by default | _clck (about 1 year), _clsk (about 1 day),
CLID (about 1 year, clarity.ms), and Microsoft
MUID (about 13 months, bing.com). |
| Adsterra (Adsterra Network) | Uses bicea.org to request the Native Banner (unit 32064161) and the fixed Social Bar
(unit 32064162) for publisher 3403020. Adult ads are
switched off for this site. | First paint, by default | Adsterra and its creative partners may set cookies or local storage on their own domains for frequency capping, fraud prevention and measurement. Their names and lifetimes are set by Adsterra, not by this site; see the Adsterra privacy policy. |
| YouTube (Google) | Plays the SamWords Daily Tens video from 15 April 2025. | Only when you press Play; the click creates the frame. | Once the frame exists, YouTube may set VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE (about
6 months), YSC (session) and PREF (about 8 months). |
| Fonts | Fraunces and Source Sans 3 ship with the site. The browser does not call a font host. | With the page | None. |
Cookies and local storage this site writes
This site writes two keys of its own, both in localStorage on
dailytens.xyz:
dt_consent— the choice (granted or denied), the matching ad and analytics signals, and an expiry. Kept for 180 days, then replaced on the next visit.dt_consent.socialbar_closed— set when you close the Adsterra Social Bar, so it does not reappear on the next page view. Kept for 180 days.
The site’s own scripts set no cookies; the two local keys above are the only storage it writes itself. The tags in the table may set the cookies listed there, some of them first-party on this domain (GA4 and Clarity) and some on the vendor’s own domain. Those cookies are controlled by Google, Microsoft and Adsterra respectively.
Choice, GPC and DNT
On a first visit with no stored choice, the page writes dt_consent as
granted and shows the banner. Reject rewrites it as denied, sets the
Google consent signals (ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization and
analytics_storage) to denied, and reloads the page with Google Analytics, Clarity and
Adsterra disabled. The reload ends scripts already running in the old page.
Accept reloads with the tags on, clears a
remembered Social Bar dismissal and hides the banner. Cookie settings in the footer
reopens the banner at any time.
If the browser sends Global Privacy Control, or Do Not Track is 1, the record is written as denied and the three tags are not loaded. The consent default in the page head is set before any measurement config: ad storage, ad user data and ad personalization start denied and are updated to granted only when the stored choice allows it; analytics storage starts granted for the default-on path.
Retention
The two local preference keys expire after 180 days. Third-party cookie lifetimes depend on the vendor and browser settings; the table lists typical lifetimes rather than a promise that each cookie is present. Mail you send us is retained to answer your request and document any correction. Contact us to request deletion.
Personalised advertising and opt-outs
Adsterra may select ads from the page context and from its own identifiers. You can turn off personalised advertising at the network and industry level: Google Ads Settings, Microsoft ad settings, DAA WebChoices, NAI opt-out, and EDAA Your Online Choices (EU/UK). Reject on this site stops the Adsterra tags here regardless of those settings.
Your rights
You can ask for access, correction, deletion or a copy, and you can object or complain to your authority. Write to [email protected]. To drop the stored choice yourself, use Cookie settings and press Reject, or clear local storage for this site.
Changes
A material change updates the date at the top of this page. The same text is linked from every footer.
Questions
Do I have to click Accept for the tags to load?
No. They load by default. The banner is notice and a way back out; Reject is the button that actually stops them and records the choice for 180 days.
How do I change my choice later?
Use Cookie settings in the footer. Accept turns the tags back on, Reject turns them off again, and either choice replaces the stored record.
